House rules Contact us Photo Album			Kasteel Slangenburg is the Guesthouse of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Willibrord, which lies a short distance south of the castle - a twenty-minute walk away. However, everyone is welcome at their Guesthouse, whatever their religious convictions: single people as well as couples, people of all ages, young and old, people who, after a difficult period, need to reflect and find their way again, people who want to read, or study, or meditate, or just go for a walk in a beautiful peaceful environment. In short, anyone who longs for rest and good care. The castle's guests select themselves. All of them appreciate peace and quiet. The informal way in which our guests interact with each other gives everyone exactly the amount of contact and privacy they themselves desire. The monks have put the management of the castle in the hands of lay people, who on a voluntary and part-time basis endeavour to ensure that your stay will be as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. The fixed daily routine of meals and drinks, which is aligned with the daily services in the abbey, provides comfortable opportunities for you to get to know your fellow-guests. Morning- and evening meals are simple but more than adequate, while the midday meal is given special attention and is invariably, according to our guests, imaginative and of excellent quality. Kasteel Slangenburg falls under the control of the Dutch Rijksgebouwendienst (National Trust), while the Dutch Staatsbosbeheer looks after the property.
