Host/hostess (volunteer)
Slangenburg Castle in Doetinchem has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. Over the centuries, it has been expanded and renovated by various residents to become the castle we know today. Since 2016, it has been owned by the Monumentenbezit Foundation. Today, we welcome visitors who come to discover the castle and learn more about its history and unique interior.
As a host or hostess, you are one of the faces of Slangenburg Castle. You welcome visitors and act as a gallery attendant, telling stories about the rooms and the history of the castle. At the same time, you keep an eye on things to ensure that the interior and the collection are treated with respect. Of course, we will make sure that you are well prepared and get to know the castle and its stories thoroughly.
What will you do?
- You receive visitors and welcome them to the castle.
- You tell visitors about the history of the castle and its rooms.
- You answer questions from visitors.
- You supervise the interior and the collection.
- You contribute to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for visitors.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers (m/f/x) who:
- Being hospitable and communicative
- Have an interest in history and cultural heritage
- Enjoy telling stories to visitors
- Would like to work together in a team of volunteers
